It is not necessary to play this game first, but it would probably do you some good.
Dark Freddy is a character who has had a start that would be best described as "unusually rough". Being featured in a game that eventually got wiped as his only claim to fame, and then failing to beat the heroes of yet another game, he wakes up in the middle of nothing, only to be offered something he realistically can't refuse - a competition of sorts in which the rewards and stakes are higher than anyone could have ever thought...
Once again: What could possibly go wrong?
