I might be a bit late to the party, but I've just discovered this and wow... what a ride it was!
Hey, awesome work here. Only complaint (very minor one): Tell us which kind of spell we are using, please!
After the chicken levels, the game takes away you ability to summon the chicken but doesn't tell you. That was not very good, as I expected to be able to use it against the cannon.
Besides that, really, really good.
That was fun <3 You were able to cram quite a fun game into 25 levels, I'm excited yet terrified to see what torment and spells you'll have in a full version
This game is fantastic. I love the look and feel of it. The controls are smooth and the spells are cool. I really like this game. :D
Can you make it into a downloadable .exe I cannot record games in my browser without it freezing up :D

New version with 25 levels
Mad Mage Tower is a charming and challenging gameboy-esque puzzler. You are a new mage! You do not know many spells yet, but are looking to make your way up a tower. On some of the tower's levels there are books of spells. If you can make it over to a spell, you will be able to read it and learn the spell. These spells, including the ability to light candles, spawn chickens and use levers, will help you solve puzzles along the way. The only thing these spells will not help you with is your ability to not die by spikes. Many levels do have spikes waiting to destroy you. The jumps to get around them are quite challenging, but can be done! With only 25 levels so far, this game gives you just enough to get you hooked.

This is a beta version that I created for the BaconGamJam 10, I will keep working in this project and make a full version including more levels, bosses and cut scenes!
The game contains only 4 colours and is inspired by old Game Boy games.
