What do you think?

As this game is your first and still in alpha, you have a decent concept for a puzzle game. I'm sure you are still working on polich for the game as it continues to develop, but here are a few critiques that could potentially help. The playthrough was very simple and linear but with the addition of a few more mechanics, you could have all the workings for a mastermind puzzler.

1) Perhaps in future builds, add a limited use of arrows and multiple pathways to the end (some pathways will use more arrows and thus be unatainable) everything is paused until you his a "GO" button, and not allowing the player to alter the map until they his reset or they die.

2) If the explorer was to turn left or right upon hitting a wall, this could add a new element, as you would have to strategically use your surroundings with the small amount of arrows supplied.

3) having traps that are timed so you have to trial and error the level and use new pathes of logic to reach the end.
Example: of there is a statue that spits out arrows every 4 seconds (if 1 tile movement by the explorer is = to 1 second) then you would have to figure out what part of the hallway you'd have to pass through.
Much like the arrows you could have enemies move in the same style
Enemies like SNAKES, could have pre determined patterns in say a square of 9 spaces where the center of that sqaure is safe.
SPIDERS could follow along theside the wall heading in one direction only. A coloured spider for each direction.

you could have some type of GOLEM that walks in your direction only, but is stopped by walls seperating you.

Some traps could have triggers like a switch in the floor that releases bolders (Indiana Jones style)

4) This is a harder mechaninc to pull off, but having equipables. (they unlock as levels progress) At the start of the level you can also equip items that give you abilities but you only have so many slots available. so you have to choose logically according to the maze, the layout, the enemies and the arrow count.
Examples:

  • SHOES to jump over pits

  • MACHETE can defeat an enemy upon contact

  • TORCH to distract enemies

  • RAMEN Your character stops for a bit to eat while the level continues to move around him (Progresses level time without moving by 10seconds)

  • EXPLOERER'S HAT to turn the other direction when hitting a wall instead of the default direction.

some items might only be used once like the machete unless you equip more than one.

Hopefully these ideas help you.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future!

I can see that this is still in progress, and there are many possible expansion to this game
My suggestion is to have multiple arrows to be placed but at same time there are enemies or traps whose movement can be altered with arrows too
Another suggestion is to add switch which opens gate or disables trap
