Macrodata Refinement

Welcome to Macro Data Refinement. Your goal is to sort through large amounts of data, and file them into five bins.

To start your console, click anywhere on the screen. Please allow the console a few moments to complete it's booting sequence.

When you have reached the "Input" screen, enter the name of your assigned file. You will be taken to a "Rolodex" with all of your files. Click the card corresponding to your current file to enter it.

The data has been arranged into a digital interface, in the form of a field of numbers. Some numbers may present themselves in a manner so as to illicit an emotional response in the refiner.

The numbers may make you feel sad, happy, angry, or invoke a sense of fear.

Simply click these 'scary numbers' to select them and fence off the data. Once the data has been properly selected along with it's perimeters, simply click one of the five bins.

Once the bin is open, press 'B' or the SQUARE touch button to bin the data. To cancel the selection, right-click or press the X touch button. Use the scroll wheel or the PLUS and MINUS touch buttons to zoom in and out. Use the ARROW keys to navigate the data field.

When no bins are open, holding 'B' or the SQUARE touch button and touching a bin will show it's categorical ratio without binning any data.

If the device you are using is a combination laptop-tablet with both a keyboard and a touchscreen, and you would like to activate touch buttons, you may press 'T' to turn them on.

Please refrain from asking any further questions. Any inquiries into the true nature of the data or the tasks you are being asked to perform will be met with a reprimand or a potential visit to the Break Room.

NOTE: To reset locally stored data, simply enter the phrase "CLEAR DATA" in the "Input" screen.
