I had a lot of fun playing this, you put a lot of detail and thought into a quickly made game. Good job!
monkey
You are Darwin, the social monkey, and you must make it to the end of flu season by finding a balance between catching social interactions while avoiding germs. This game is a metaphor for the risks of meeting up with people during flu season.
Instructions
Avoid red germs. Catch blue social interactions. Don't let the health or social meters fall to zero.
Action | Controls
Move | WASD or Arrow Keys
Jump | Spacebar (Hold longer to jump higher)
Exit | Escape
Germs: All the other monkeys have the flu and can transmit it to you via the red germ particles they emit. Each germ you bump into will hurt your health. If your health becomes depleted, then you catch the flu and lose.
Social Interactions: You can gain social interactions by catching the blue hearts that come out of other monkeys' mouths. Each social interaction will improve your social health, which is constantly draining. If your social health bar becomes depleted, then you become sick with loneliness and lose.
Win by surviving until the end of the flu season (which lasts 60 seconds) without catching the flu or becoming too lonely.
Powerups: Oranges will give you temporary immunity against germs, and medkits will heal your health.

The theme for the game jam was: TRANSMISSION. We applied this by making a game about the risks of disease transmission vs. social interaction.
