What do you think?

Check out "'Naut" in my Gamejolt compilation #2

'Naut is an amusing little game. Simplistic in design, but slightly more challenging than you may think due to the oxygen limitations. What starts out as a fun romp across brightly colored alien landscapes quickly turns into a struggle to find that next tank of O², all while trying to attain the coveted high score and earn those bragging rights. So far, this seems like a pretty good foundation for a full game and has plenty of room to grow. Good job, dev. https://youtu.be/3pGGxYdHZXE

According to diskland, the oxygen level could be better indicated, maybe with a level bar, to have better control of it!

In my opinion the gameplay for now is quite poor, because you have only to find aliens.. my advice is, in the future, to improve the game with some features, for example:
1) some bad aliens, that you must discover but not be hit by them.
2) add some proibite areas, like lava.
3) invisible aliens, that you can discover only with the flashlight turned on.

Despite that, very good graphics and effects, especially lights and shadows.. I like also the alien models and the footprints effect; very nice soundtracks!
I can see a lot of work here, especially if made by only one person!

Very good job!!

Edit: maybe it's a Game Jolt bug, but I do the login as I start the game, then play and, when I come back to the main menu, I must do again the login, but this time it always says that my credentials are incorrect.. because of that, I can't register my scores!

Lots of love was invested into making this game - It's obvious at first glance.
Design of the creatures is excellent and real-time lighting makes it look amazing, when stuff is lit by the sun.
Unfortunately i'm not very fond of the way the lack of oxygen is indicated.
The overlay texture is very pixelated (it's blurriness doesn't help much)
and it just impairs the nice clean look.
I would rather see a radial blur vignette effect instead - covering just the corners of the screen.
Nevertheless the game is very pleasant.
Good job!

i know its a old game i no posts for a while but.... this is a nice game

'Naut is a game I started in mid-2017 and stopped working on at the beginning of 2018. I did some updates throughout 2018, but now I work full-time and have no time for further development. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm quite proud of how much I got done, but I got burnt out when the next stages of development consisted of just adding more aliens and planets/solar systems.

Right now the game includes 1 solar system, with 4 planets with different aliens on them. Oh, and you can also customise your 'Naut's colours ;).

Hope you enjoy what I made!

Stuff I'd like to do in the future:

  • MORE ALIENS! Including a new rarity system, making some aliens appear less often, making them rarer!

  • A new music system, so it doesn't just loop.

  • A portfolio-tablet-thing to see all the aliens you've found, and even how many other players have found and your ranking on the leaderboard!

  • Different helmets to choose from (Have actually made the helmets, just no system in-game :/ )

  • More solar systems with more planets to discover! Each with a different theme maybe(?)

  • Performance optimization

Other ideas:

  • Upgrade system (Better oxygen tanks, more jetpack fuel, etc.)

  • A discover range, which you can also upgrade, so you can find aliens from longer distances

Got a full-time job! (fewer updates)

So I got a full-time job at a game company, which is really exciting! But sadly this means that I have very little free time, thus less game dev-ing. So sadly, expect fewer updates :'(

Thanks for all the support!
