(I understand that his was made for the 3 Hour Game Jam and was, in turn, made in 3 hours. All of my tips are for further improvement for the future, not, "you shoulda done this". You had three hours and made a great game!)
The idea behind this is indeed very cool, however before you click on the neon bars you really don't know what the colors are. The relation between the colors wasn't too well explained, so the game session for me was just a lot of random clicking.
By the third level I kind of understood the rules and logic of the game. The idea behind the puzzles is incredible and one of the most thought provoking games I have seen made in such a duration! I think that when the neon bars are turned off they should have a very dim glow that shows what the color is and keep when they are turned on the same. That would make understanding the relations between the colors much easier, as you can see, "Okay this is on and that turned off, and that's x color and this is y color. I see that Blue doesn't have a Red component in it so selecting pink will turn it off." Instead of. Huh. That bar turned off. I don't know what color that was so I should click it again."
That is where the random clicking for me turned up :P
I get that this was made in three hours and is very good at that. I REALLY hope you make this a full game, and if you do, greatly look forward to the final product. This is the most innovative 3hgj game I have seen thus far.
Good Job!
More than a game, a quick proof of concept smashed together for the Three Hour Game Jam (#3hGJ) - with theme "Neon". Click on the Neon tubes to switch them on or off - but beware: every neon that doesn't share the same RGB components will switch on/off as well (example: red switches green, blue and cyan too. Yellow switches only blue)!
Light all neons to win. For now it's just three really ugly levels, and only the last one is somewhat of a challenge... 3 hours aren't enough time to design devious enough puzzle levels!
