This was very interesting. Amazing graphics and atmosphere! I wish there was a checkpoint system though :(

Its a good game but the moment that monster starts chasing you getting around him is nearly impossible, after 6 attempts I just stopped, it doesn't help when I have to start from scratch too.
The game was too much for my laptop, but I made the best of it.

This game pull me in with a promise of the AI being like the monster in Amnesia, and I was not disappointed, I did see him teleport a few times, but that is all fine by me because it kept him away from me haha. Things I was not so fond of was the permadeath, most of the game is easy enough that you are fine to run through it and not be concerned about dying, but in the cave I was having some troubling realizing where to go, so with that frustration and the mix of possibly starting over can get a bit much, and I also experienced a section in the dragon door room where he chased me up to one of the levers and it seemed like it was taking him a very long time to go away or teleport but thats not that big of a deal, i'm just still salty over the fact that I died due to running into a bench. But I absolutely LOVE everything you've done with the vision, I was really impressed and think that transitions between the two are soooooo smooth. I think the game has a great look to it and it kept me feeling very on edge knowing the statue could show up anywhere, I think this was a really great demo and i'm a little bummed it will not be going past a demo, as far as combat I have no idea what you may have had in store, but the environment with your creature I really did feel that influence of Amnesia and would like to see where you would have taken it in the future.

Obscurity is a short first person horror game originally created as a school project, featuring a large mysterious cavern protected by a... not so friendly creature.
Note: Please read the README.txt file. It contains helpful information about controls and modifications like lowering graphics or changing mouse sensitivity.
Gameplay features:
First person.
An emphasis on exploration and stealth.
An AI monster based off similar enemies from classic horror titles like Amnesia.
Focus on immersion, hence HUD is kept to a bare minimum.
Controller support (though I can only guarantee functionality on an Xbox 360 controller).
While Obscurity was originally intended to eventually become a full-length game, I've decided after finishing an initial demo section that I probably won't continue working on this.
For this reason the duration of the game is only ~25 minutes but features perma-death. No checkpoints!
Upcoming features/fixes:
A main menu to hopefully make some things more easily customizable. For now I've mapped several important options to keyboard keys, check the README.txt!
Troubleshooting:
Unreal Engine 4 is a performance heavy game engine. In case of performance issues, try lowering your graphics (press F6 in-game or check the README.txt!).
If you're unable to start/properly run the game, try (re)installing Visual C++ 2013 runtime and [DirectX runtime](https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=35].
If you encounter any issues, don't hesitate to let me know by leaving behind a comment or contacting me directly at [email protected]!
Finally please note I'm not a 3D modeller. Most credit should go to the respective creators of public assets I've used in this project, assets I couldn't have made this game without. I'm in the process of writing down a list of references and credits.
