What do you think?

kinda have 1 problem with this and is that even if you download a binary for 0.6 so that you can play the mod, the binary copies the saved data from the version of supertux you always use

Free

PepperTux Milestone 1 (v0.1.0)

Version: 0.1.011 days ago
The first release of PepperTux, after all these months!

Game Soundtrack

1 song

Arctic Darkness (Song by AnatolyStev) (Includes a reference to "Clavelian March" from SuperTux)

Nolok captures Penny, but this time, the levels are different, and it's kind of nostalgic.

How To Install

To download and install, you should download the data zip file on this page and replace your SuperTux 0.6.0 data folder with the data zip file's data folder. It's surprisingly really easy. If you don't know how to do it, I can give you the SuperTux 0.6.0 binary thing from SuperTux-Binaries on GitHub with the data folder already replaced.

If you found any issues, report the issues to the GitHub Issues page for this repository, or the comments of the GameJolt page of PepperTux.

Story

The same story as SuperTux, basically, Tux goes to a picnic with Penny, but Nolok attacks and captures Penny, leaving just a note telling Tux that he doesn't stand a chance at getting Penny back, so Tux goes forward to Nolok's Icy Island castle, hoping that Nolok and Penny would be there.

The Purpose Of This

PepperTux is meant to be like SuperTux 0.5.1 with some 0.6.0 things. It's a mod for SuperTux 0.6.0.

There's really no purpose, just here for fun.

This isn't meant to be "finished SuperTux before SuperTux Team does it", although it is kind of that (to be honest, by the time Tropical Island or Snow Mountain is finished in this, SuperTux will likely already have one or two of those (Tropical Paradise / Mountain Peaks)), it's meant to be a fun little "what if" question, like what if old SuperTux had the new worlds and even a Desert world? (Secret Desert, as it's a secret world)

Also, the worldmaps are different now.

The levels are also replaced with new ones.

Credits (Full list is on the GitHub README file)

For more information, go to the authors file on the GitHub repository... when that's finished. Will likely be finished at the end of Milestone 1.

There's a lot of weird things to do with the code that probably made sense before but doesn't make sense now.

I'm just now realizing I might have put an unused / useless import in the Tux.hx file.

The game is still being worked on! A new level will be added to the section 3 pull request soon.

Good news! I finally moved the Iceblock / Snail code to Enemy.hx! This means it's much easier to create Iceblock-like enemies, the Iceblock bump sound works now and the Snail is more unique and more like how the Snail is in SuperTux.

https://gamejolt.com/p/currently-trying-and-will-probably-fail-t… Also, if I don't fail to do this, it will be part of the Finished Section 3 pull request

Currently trying (and will probably fail to) make the Iceblock / Snail holding code be in Enemy.hx instead of Iceblock.hx and Snail.hx

I have unarchived the PepperTux-Godot repository just in case someone has a good fix for squishing enemies. For now, the HaxeFlixel version is the one being worked on but this can change if someone has a good fix for squishing enemies.

https://gamejolt.com/p/i-m-aware-of-a-really-annoying-bug-where-… I'm also aware of a bug that happens even more where the player can stand on a corner but not jump as they're going between falling and standing every frame. Again, this is just because of how HaxeFlixel works, I think.

I'm aware of a really annoying bug where if the player is pixel perfect (which happens too often), they can go through the corner of a collision square. Unfortunately, I think this is just something that happens with HaxeFlixel.

Most example levels are done and have been added to the repository, the Desert example level will likely not be made until Milestone 2. Icy Island Section 3 is being worked on again now, new levels can be made by anyone (I deleted ExplanationAboutLevels)
