Primarily to help younger kids learn math in a fun game! Can help the child to learn faster, as they will be more engaged with shooting astroids, than they will be with listening to a teacher at the front of a classroom. IMPORTANT! NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MATH EDUCATION! This is a very basic game meant to help reinforce basic ideas, not to teach new ones.
