Note: If you are playing the full release, you can kick down the boards in the beginning by pressing right click on your mouse. You must not be moving to kick.

You are an unnamed investigator that is interested in the case of one "Officer Evans". Thanks to an inside source, you are able to get your hands on a video of his last seen moments through his body-cam footage. While the mystery of his fate still lingers, his experiences will leave you disturbed.

Welcome to Rec Deception, a Dark Deception fangame where you play as Officer Evans through the point of view of body-cam footage. This game attempts to mimic the styles of both games "Dark Deception" and "Unrecord".

There will be no later chapters, as that would be copying paid extensions of "Dark Deception". This game mimics the first chapter. If you have never played Dark Deception, I would recommend downloading the first chapter on Steam for absolutely free.

Programming, camera visuals, and lighting were created by me. Environment and monster assets were taken from "Dark Deception". All models and textures other than the player belong to Glowstick Entertainment. This game was inspired by "Unrecord".

"Dark Deception" was created by Glowstick Entertainment, "Unrecord" was created by DRAMA.

I am so sorry, I wasn't able to get any sort of tutorial in to explain how to break the boards. To break the boards, you must KICK them down by standing completely still and clicking the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. If you are close enough, you can kick them down.

Decided to release what I've made as the first "full" version of Rec Deception. While it's not necessarily buggy, there are things to be tweaked for sure. Once I get to a place where I can regulate my workflow, I'll release a patch for the new build.

I've got other projects I need to work on, so I think I might hold off on finishing the gun system for now. It semi works but its buggy and I wouldn't want to release the update with bugs. Here's a preview of what's to come in a later update!

Is anybody there?

Should I add guns?
