Like the sci-fi theme here, the exploration, control the drone feels very nice and in general, you put the player into the right mood.
but I missed some stuff regarding the cameras, the whole game I was expecting something unusual, like an evil alien, some problem with the screens ( I loved how you display that screens), perhaps discover things about the civilization there like a temple.
I think there is a lot of potential here.
That intro? Mwah. Amazing moodsetter, love seeing the text typing across, love the very robotic nature of it, love how telling you the controls is part of the in-game procedure, love the whole sequence with the superjump and falling into the ocean, just wonderful intro all around, absolutely excellent and intriguing. The ending cutscene is also nice to look at.
The middle of the game definitely drags on, although you definitely succeed at setting up a strange, hard-to-describe atmosphere. I was a little bit on edge but also curious. The Reveal is well done and, combined with the ending shot, is somber. I wish there was more to look at as you go through the ocean, perhaps more of those relics or other structures, just so there is less empty space. But, this was a two-week game, and in that time limit, you made a unique and intriguing game. Glad I played it.
Really cool game, loved the style and how the text appeared :) The minimal graphics I think almost aided the atmosphere you created as it relies on a bit of imagination from the player. Really good job!
Interesting game! I included it in my Adventure Jam 2018 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. https://youtu.be/_fbvuYRvcD8
While they may be simple for 3D graphics by virtue of having little or no texture mapping, the visuals serve the purpose very well and touches like the text effect, the display switching etc. make for a very polished feel. The sound is just perfect.
I also like how you tell the story by not telling the story, but by just letting things unfold as a matter of course.
And thank you so much for allowing for inverting the mouse y axis!
Mechanical failure brings a salvage vessel to an uncharted solar system, and to the depths of an unknown ocean.
