In summary, Inverted Fate is a universe where Asriel defeats the human and resets, causing the six lost souls, or main characters, to switch their roles with each other. This leads to having many new friends, new enemies, a new story, some old faces, new mechanics, and a lot more dogs fun! (Okay, there are dogs too, in the comic, I mean.)

Now, in this fan game, you've made it to Snowdin with the help of Papyrus, he and his brother, Sans, invite you into their home to keep you safe for the time being. Though, you want to explore the rest of the Underground and make it home to the surface. Knowing what dangers you'll surely face up ahead, Sans tries to stop you so that you can remain in Snowdin, under his jurisdiction. Now, you can call the shots. You make the choices, you control the action. Will you head Sans' warnings and head back, or will you bravely stand up to him with his brother by your side? The choice is yours!
