just played the game for a bit and i have to say that it's really good!) a nice little roguelite with a great idea at its core with the shadows being the ever-present threat, fun combat, nice level generation and lots of spells to choose from - i think i got a new spell each run!) aside from poison arrow, which just really likes to appear before me, for some reason. the game is pretty difficult but a lot of its fun comes from that fact - you gradually become better and better at navigating this shadow-ridden maze of goofy-looking monsters, and it feels great) or perhaps it's more tailored towards multiplayer? please do tell me if the difficulty becomes greater if there are multiple characters present!) the game's only lacking side is graphics which is subjective, since the current, blocky ones look pretty stylish, kinda remind of Runescape, and besides - graphics aren't what matters most in a game - fun is, and hoo boy this game is a big load of fun!)
also, the fireball to me looks more like a flame arrow and i've stumbled upon a bug where the dragon or the poison worm enemies shoot in a random direction until the player gets too close, but not always. just reporting!) other than that, i've found no bugs - good job on that! :>
ABOUT THIS GAME
Shadow Eclipse is a single or multiplayer dungeon crawler with elements of bullet hell style gameplay.
Features:
Battle your way through increasingly difficult levels and see how far you can push your mage and develop a unique spell build!
Play by yourself or host a room and share the room code with friends. Note multiplayer currently only works through the Steam release of this game that is available for a free playtest download at https://store.steampowered.com/app/1425670/Shadow_Eclipse/
Each room you clear drops randomized spell upgrades resulting in different mage builds each playthrough.
Rooms in each level are laid out in a grid and grow wider depending on the number of players. The more rooms you can explore, the more spell upgrades you will find!
Your mage can only know 3 spells at a time, forcing you to identify spell combinations, and make decisions about which spells to hold onto and which to forget.
Rooms scale in difficulty and reward depending on the number of players near the room.
A shadowy mist slowly moves up the level, limiting how many side rooms you have time to explore and forcing you to always push forwards or end up devoured by darkness!
Increasingly difficult bosses guard entryway to further levels.
