i got the ultimate sword but i lost my save data

Just finished game.
Glad to see the fighting wasn't too hard and most battles over in one round.
Bosses, although challenging, were doable if using your head a little.
When in the jail,I talked to the guy in upper left room.
He said something about not being a storybook and then game froze and had to restart.
Didn't find the treasure at "end of road" and didn't get the chest in the sewer that was locked.
Thinking the "treasure at the end of the road" was the key to the locked box??
Enjoyed the game.Wish it were longer!
Only complaint (sort of)is the ending was unusually abrupt.
