Simulacracea is a visual novel adventure game.
You play the role of Dr. Melissa Park, a practicing psychologist called to a university to help them with an unusual problem.
An experimental AI named Willow has started acting erratically, and the developers of the AI are unsure if the behavior is a technical problem or signs of a mental illness.
The lead designer, Tara Northrop, wants to let Willow solve these issues on their terms while the university's president, Dr. Harold Freeman, is concerned about the potential ethical questions posed by Willow's existence and wants the AI reverted to a non-sentient state.
Through your therapy sessions with Willow, you will have to earn their trust while navigating the loyalties of Dr. Freeman and Tara in order to help Willow become functional, all while coming to terms with your own troubled past.
