I like the graphics!

I suggest that the game will include some random elements/features, like random obstacles, items and enemies (not necessarily procedural generation) for allowing game replaying (Replay value).

Sole Forte is a 2d action/exploration game (I might as well say metroidvania, although there is an ambition for it to be not too formulaic) with strong 8bit aesthetics and a unique scifi scenario.

Currently the game is still in pre-alpha state and being developed by a single person using Construct 2, Asesprite and Spriter as the main tools. There are plans to bring a second person on board at a later point to handle the music.

On a forgotten mining outpost hundreds of years may have passed since the last human soul was registered, but the overwatch AI controlling the station never went offline.

Currently attempt 2.489.001.327 is underway to reboot one of the remaining service drones in order to rid the outpost of an infestation of parasitic alien lifeforms. A pest control effort if you will...

Intense Fantasy Violence
Blood and Gore

Added a few little touches in the last few weeks and it can be intimidating when you realize how much still has to be done. But most recently I also created a new boss fight which is almost finished. Planning to speed up things again in the new year!

Added tiles for a new area including the wet element and some critters that might look like this.

Back on the horse again. Added three new enemies, one of which I basically directly borrowed from Castlevania.

Unfortunately the common cold got me once more, still I did implement some new menu stuff. Faster progress soon!

Currently solidifying the map feature and (re-)spawning mechanics. Expect a bit of soulslike inspiration.

Of course there has to be this kind of boss...

Dying isn't quite as uneventful anymore as things finally start to go boom.

There was no minimap yet so I added a crude one. A few more touches and I can finish up the first area of the game.

To take better control of the... ahem... controls in the game I created a little Construct 2 plugin "Controls Aid" which is quite handy.

It allows me to handle multiple input methods more easily and keep track of how long a key/button has been pressed.
