What is it?
This is an unofficial PC port of Sonic the Sketchhog from iOS
Description
Sonic the Sketchhog is a 2D side-scroller platform game for mobile phones andĀ iOSĀ devices. The game featuresĀ SonicĀ in a hand-drawn doodle style defeating Badniks likeĀ CrabmeatĀ andĀ ChopperĀ as he advances his way through a drawn level. It was only available for the month of July 2010. A port of this game was later made available for iOS devices, as part of theĀ Sonic 20th AnniversaryĀ app.
Gameplay
The game is only one long level, like all score attack-genre games. The level gets progressively harder, as shown by the text at the top of the screen. The difficulty levels, in order, are as follows:
Easy
Normal
Hard
Very Hard
Death
The game is relatively simple to play: Sonic automatically runs through the level, and the player must tap the screen in order toĀ Spin Jump. However, the flat landscape is strewn with dangers such as pits full of spikes, bottomless pits, andĀ Badniks. Despite Badniks being a danger, they can also be very helpful, as jumping at the correct time may result in crossing a pit by usingĀ ChoppersĀ as "stepping stones". This method can also help Sonic reach high ledges.
Sonic can also collectĀ RingsĀ in this game. As long as Sonic has at least one Ring in his possession, he will survive running into aĀ CrabmeatĀ or falling into a pit of spikes. It is not until the "Very Hard" difficulty that pits become bottomless. Falling into a pit, regardless of Ring count, will result in a game over.
