The Sword of the Cat is an upcoming semi-open-world game. It's our first big project, and the name of the game refers to the magical demon-slaying sword (see picture), called Maneki, which refers to the Japanese luck-bringing cat statues, Maneki-Neko. There are 3 battle styles. The slow but large-ranged sword style, the fast but weak fist style, and the slow but powerful gun style. It will also have some RPG elements. But no leveling system. Here at Toaster Entertainment, we believe in growth. In our opinion, how well you do in the game shouldn't be just numbers on a computer screen. It should be your real skills. Actual challenges that can't be removed by grinding. Sure, you can obtain better gear, but it should be just a tool. A great microphone doesn't make you a better singer, and in a similar fashion, a powerful weapon should be useless in the hands of someone who can't use it properly.
Additionally, The Sword of the Cat in memory of Toaster Entertainment's creative director's deceased cat and best friend Ringo.
