Soulmate is a psychological horror visual novel set in an alternate version of 2007 Japan. The game follows the story of Nanako Fujimori traversing her feelings for her shy best friend, Yuna Arakawa. Yuna and Nanako grew up together, however Yuna's only friend was Nanako. Now that they're in university, and adults hitting the town, Yuna is trying to spread her wings, but Nanako isn't ready for her to leave. Nanako has grown just as dependent to Yuna... but she won't let her leave. Yuna may not know it, but these friends she's making are threats to Nanako. Nanako can't stand idly by while Yuna just leaves her behind. Nanako will do anything it takes to keep Yuna around. She doesn't care who's lives she has to ruin, she doesn't care who their friends are, she doesn't care if she hurts Yuna in the process. As long as Yuna is her's, she will be happy.
