What do you think?

Game looks decent, although with plenty of small problems that lead to the overall experience not being very good.

Before I talk about the game itself, I don't like the warning scene not mentioning that you have to press the Enter or Space key in order to jump to the main menu. Not only would I like a text prompt on the screen that says you have to press something, but I also prefer it to be any key and not only Enter or Space (which in the case of Godot would be the Input.is_anything_pressed() function).

As for the game itself, I have many problems with the controls in particular. Rather slow scrolling speed, the camera panel being on the far right side of the office, and then the map layout with the tiny camera buttons being on the far left side, the interface in general is extremely annoying to deal with, to the point that it feels like in the harder nights, you're going to die a lot more times to the bad controls than the mistakes that you make.

The camera battery mechanic doesn't help the case either. It's a very counterintuitive mechanic, because it heavily discourages players from using what is the most important (and enjoyable) mechanic in a FNaF game, the cameras. Not only does the battery run out absurdly fast, the map layout being on the opposite side of the camera button, paired with the tiny and hard to click camera buttons, makes it a pain to try to use the cameras. Even then, the majority of cameras don't seem to be useful at all, and you usually need the two corridor cameras only.

Some of these changes would be very nice:

  • The camera button being on the bottom side of the screen, and wider.

  • If you're keeping it on the right side, then move the map layout to the right side as well, so one third of the camera battery isn't wasted while the cursor reaches the camera buttons. The buttons could be a bit bigger as well.

  • Office scrolling could be slightly faster.

  • Either change the way the camera battery works, or remove it as a whole, as it makes no positive change to the gameplay at its current shape.

Besides all that, the game overall is pretty functional for a first game made in another engine. The environment and animatronics look nice too for the most part, even though the camera battery doesn't allow me to take any closer look at them. That's all the feedback I had to share for the demo. Good luck finishing the game!

INFO

You found yourself a job huh? If you do well on your shift then they will probably pay you well, Hopefully nothing bad happens along the way..right?

SO WHERE DO I START?

Here i am back at making fnaf fan games again, But with a twist, Most of my projects will be made in godot.

For context this is my small side project, I was taking a break for my passion project named "Icie's Ultimate Chaos 2", Making this game as my side project is probably the best move cuz ive learned alot of things from godot and the mistakes i made so i can apply the new skills i had for my passion project and be prepared from it. Hope you all being patient for the sequel of the game, it will be coming soon. <3
