There was some interesting imagery in there. I actually ended up with an interpretation. The humility and class-isolation of janitorial work in a festive, consumer environment complemented my investigations at home about who REALLY pulls the strings.
I also relaly enjoyed the music where you are outside at night. It evoked that sense of spookiness I get when walking around rural areas at night. I know that I'm probably safe, but I get skittishly paranoid and a vivid, melodramatic rush that's kinda fun.
wow i liked this. intriguing areas and sounds, i especially enjoyed the areas outside the house, something about the stars in the sky and colour choice has a comforting look. it's really interesting to just see into a world happening somewhere. gratingly unpolished and abrupt like the horrid 'fright house' creation... but then it works better outside because you don't expect door animations or anything with transitions.
Spookhouse was produced in response to #CloneJamJake as a tribute to the video game stylings of Jake Clover.
Fright House was one of the first of his games I played, and I found it really charming so I wanted to riff on it.
Spookhouse contains elements from other JC games, but Fright House is the primary source of inspiration.
