I agree that a 'countdown timer' and possibly a 'percentage to goal' would be really helpful and also create a sense of urgency in the player's mind.

It is a good game, simple but nice
The game is pretty lame as it is right now, not really because its mechanics are very simple, but because it is unpolished. To make it more polished you could use custom graphics, fix the fact that the background moves down after a while, and fix the collision detection. Adding a GUI and some levels would be nice too. I hope I helped.
Started from the top is a little platformer game made for #IndieQuilt .
In this game you have 15 seconds to reach the bottom of the level ! Just use A & D to go left and right.
