Despite some flaws, Sunrise7 is a good game for $5.
I'll be honest, I harped on this game hard. Maybe it's because I tend to judge 2D side-scrollers hard. Maybe it's because I've played a lot of Super Metroid in my off time.
Sunrise7 is not a bad game by any stretch. Despite some flaws, it's a good pick up for $5.
The graphics are hit & miss, wanting to be somewhere between neon vectorish and HD pixellated. More in the video, but the drastic change of quality from the background to the foreground is jarring to me.
The controls are alright for KB/M, but I would like to see some sort of controller compatibility. Gameplay isn't bad per-se, but I feel the beginning-game balancing and the upgrades do need some tweaking.
The music and sound is pretty good, so there's that.
Again, yes, there's some issues I have with this game. For five dollars? I can live with those issues. Definitely worth checking out!
Amazing game dev had so much fun playing it :) i hope you enjoy my gameplay https://youtu.be/wlwtKNvCZ4Q
