just played through the game and i have to say that it's really good!) it's a nice RPG with memorable characters, a big ol' world to explore with fun and long quests to do, a deceptively cliche storyline to follow that has its own twists and turns here and there and some great art that's like the cherry on top of this wonderful game!) Vlad, for your first game you did great.
while playing i also did some notes about the stuff i liked a lot - be sure to take note for part 2 from this!) firstly, its very cool that you can get instantly transported to the town by talking to your mom in the beginning - saves some time and is generally a nice idea! next, i love the detail with the barkeep saying to come back with more money if you don't buy anything - adds a lot to the immersion!) also ngl on a second thought i love all the NPC's in Lunas town, they all have something funny or interesting to say. then, the detail of mom's dialogue upon coming back with Geneva in party is GOLDEN, thank you so much for including it!!!)))) the soldier in the snow forest outpost that can guide you back is a great detail, too - just like with mom in the beginning, he saves time and relieves the player of any frustration they might've had after going through the forest. the entire Horald questline is great, i loved it back to back - it reminded me heavily of old RPG's that adore so much and it was really funny, too!) the bear cabin mini-quest is awesome, too! love the stuffed guy and the weapon he gave me even more!) the book quest is pretty cool, too - it's also in spirit of old RPG's, making the party be errand boys for the entire continent, and although i prefer Horald's questline more this one is fun to complete, too!) the first battle with the Cult Lieutenant is AWESOME, just some real balls-to-the-walls combat! the stakes are high, the guy hits like a truck and it requires you to do some big ol' resource management and preparation, and all of that - i love) the fact that other bosses aren't as powerful actually adds to the value of this one fight, making it stand out! and also, the fact that YOUR MOM JOINS YOU AS A PARTY MEMBER (well, at least for a short while) is great! not only does this explain why our main character is so strong in a fight but also why Geneva said that mc's mom is scary, hahahaha!) when you finally get the waystones working it feels rewarding and way better than if you were able to use them from the start - kind of like with the bonfire transportation in the first dark souls, it feels earned and that's great) and, lastly, Klari's entire character was awesome - an android in a fantasy world feels out of place but also very unique, plus, her lines are hilarious af i know you had a lot of fun typing them out, HAHAHAHA))))
now for some of the problems/bugs/weird stuff i found - i'll try my best not to be harsh with this but still, i'll point them out so that you can fix them and take note for part 2: firstly, Fort Arvak looks kinda... unfinished) lacks the details that Lunas town has, for example. a little touch-up with some decor would do wonders for the place's looks. next, the roads in Lunas (aside from the south one) serve no purpose since they don't take you anywhere else, upon first inspection, though, the players will think that you can use them to go somewhere when you actually can't, leading to some frustration. next, when Klari joins the party the message about her joining you appears twice, for whatever reason. if you talk to the owner of the pub while Alanna is singing then he'll still tell you "Tell her that she's on tonight" despite Alanna, well, already being on, hahaha!) after the party is separated and the fight with the guard occurs stepping on the next tile causes his line ("What do ye think yer doin'?") to appear again, even though the guy should be dead by all accounts. and, finally, no one in the party can use the bear helm. huh.
all in all, this was really awesome. a 2-hour adventure that takes you to all kinds of cool places and a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences, with plot twists that genuinely surprise you and characters that resonate well and become memorable almost instantly (Geneva is my spirit animal lolololol) - Vlad, i wish you best of luck while doing part 2 and any of your future endeavors that you might embark on, be it games or something else. thank you, and take care!
Your entire town disappears leaving you and a few others the soul survivors. You and your allies venture out into the winter province of Wuskred to try and find your missing friends. All is not as it seems.
