TerribleTruth [DEMO]

Terrible Truth is an atmospheric anthology of mystical stories. The project is currently in development, and the demo version features the first chapter of the first story from the first season.

The player follows a story about Porfiriy, a Siberian shaman standing at the boundary between worlds, and his spirit companion — a fox named Loskut. The narrative blends elements of shamanism, northern folklore, mystical thriller, and everyday realism.

A key feature of the visual novel is the variability of interpretation: depending on the player’s choices, the story may be perceived as:

• an intimate, winter family story,

• a mystical detective tale,

• or a dark supernatural thriller.

The novel focuses on atmosphere, gradual buildup of tension, and ambiguity, deliberately avoiding direct explanations and cheap jump scares.

This is the first chapter of the Terrible Truth anthology, which will later include other standalone stories.

The demo version uses generated images and places emphasis on narrative and branching choices. For the full release, the project plans to abandon AI-generated content in favor of hand-drawn artwork. #horror #atmospheric #detective #indie #mystery
