The Diner: '98 is set in a custom Five Nights at Freddy's AU (Alternate Universe).
The events of the original games remain largely unchanged in this timeline. However, this story takes place at another Fredbear's Family Diner—the original test location in New Harmony—which exists alongside the locations seen in the FNaF series.
In this universe, the New Harmony diner is the "sister location" referenced by the Phone Guy in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, expanding on that idea with its own story, characters, and secrets.
The Diner: '98 is a survival horror game inspired by classic point-and-click horror games, set inside the original Fredbear's Family Diner in New Harmony—the very first test location that reopened after years of abandonment.
As the newly hired night guard, your job seems simple: survive each night by carefully managing your resources, monitoring the building, and keeping whatever lurks inside from reaching your office. But as the nights pass, you'll begin to realize the restaurant's troubled past was never truly left behind.
Search the building for collectibles, uncover hidden VHS tapes, and piece together the history of the diner. Some secrets were forgotten. Others were buried.
