Of The Polar Variety

Save your bear friends in this bear themed platformer! With 3 worlds and 3 levels each, this makes a nice, fun time killer.

Please note this game is VERY HARD. But it is possible. Your platforming skills will be challenged, but you must not give up! Refer to the tips and tricks section if you need guidance.

Arrow keys to move
Space to jump / advance through text

Tips and Tricks

Avoid touching the whales, but if you stay still they won't hurt you.
Each level, excluding boss levels, have 3 berries. Collect all 3 of them and finish the level for a prize!
Bee hives fall if you get too close to them, angering the bee. You would be mad too if someone smashed you're home and would probably chase them nonstop.
Polar Bears are known for their ability to climb walls and ceilings. Give it a try!
There are secrets hidden all over the levels. If something seems out of reach, try to think like a wall climbing bear.
Collect as many lives as you can. Trust me, you'll need them.
A good bear never gives up.

System requirements:

• Dual Core CPU @2 GHz or more

• OpenGL 2.0 or higher graphics (Intel graphics may be spotty)

• 2GB RAM

• 5 MB of storage space

• Windows 32 or 64 bit

• Linux 64 bit only

• No mac support as of yet

• Java is required, and you may need Visual C++ Runtime 2017 or later

How to install on Linux:

• Download the tarball file

• Copy the tarball to the folder where you want to install the game

• Open up the terminal and use the cd command to set the directory to the game's folder (cd "folder/where/game/is")

• Unpack the tarball with tar xf ofthepolarvariety.tar.xz

• If you get an error unpacking, you may need to install xz-utils (sudo apt install xz-utils)

• You are done! Whenever you want to run the game, you just cd to the game folder then type ./PolarVariety

Sorry for the late release, I'm making this thing entirely by myself and by hand, which is a lot more time consuming than I remember it being.
