Hello, guys!
I made this little game to get me back into game programming. It took me about ¼ of a day to make (6 hours). It follows Jeb, a naive 21-year-old man, on his quest to find the elixir of endless life which is rumored to be developed by alchemists in France. (The country of France in 1450 BC is when and where this game takes place.)
The objective of this game is to avoid the 15 "red bars of death" (avoiding them symbolizes the cheating of death itself), and finally reach the castle, where you should discover the elixir on a stone.
I actually designed this game as a challenge, to try and make a fast, and relatively good quality game in less than a day. This is an arcade-style game that was inspired by ancient alchemical tales (mostly Chinese and Egyptian). These tales follow emperors, alchemists, mercury along with other deadly substances (quite a coincidence, considering it's about immortality), and magical islands.
Also, please excuse the bad quality music, as I wrote it (along with the rest of the game, although it turned out much better) in the Scratch 2.0 Offline programming editor.
And there is also a secret hidden in the game. I hope you check it out!
One last final thing: this is compiled into a ".exe" file (sorry Mac users, I'm working on you!) by the Vaysoft SWF to EXE Converter, and it includes advertising for it's services (yeah, I know). So please try to ignore it. It doesn't show up as the program is running, but only upon start up, and when you close it.
But in the end, I hope you enjoy the game!
