I had a stupid moment when I was making the game. I forgot to put the serial number in for Game Maker so it converted it to a GML file. All fixed now. Do bear in mind this is my first game ever so the over all quality isn't amazing. Thanks for your interest though and I'm open to constructive feedback. :D
Hey man, sorry about that. I have no idea why it's doing that! It's been a uni project for me and it must've somehow got screwed up in the upload process? It was made in Game Maker 8.1 so that's got me stumped. I'll re-do the executable ASAP.
The game sounds interesting, but it's unplayable. Here is the error I get:

Through the Gauntlet is an intense, thriller-dungeon crawler. The protagonist has been captured by a group of malicious Naga; creatures with snake-like lower bodies and human torsos. It is the players’ mission to guide the protagonist through filthy giant rat and screeching bat infested dungeons. Utilise spear, sword and the powers gained from inhumane experiments and lay waste to your enemies as you delve deeper into the darkness. Be aware however, the dungeons are dark and light sources are limited. Can you escape alive?
