This is a very nice game, well polished all round. All I'd say is I basically made it through the whole game without realising you had to press E to activate the powerups
Wow, what an awesome game! The scenery, characters, music, sounds... it's all so well-crafted and seamlessly brought together! I don't think I'd mind the occasional internet outage as much with something like this to pass the time. :) And although I haven't seen every entry, I would definitely be shocked if this doesn't make the top 3. Best of luck to you guys!
I was hoping someone would incorporate some sort of roguelike-ish progression into a game, and this certainly does an excellent job! It feels extremely polished, with beautiful graphics and music, as well as fun gameplay. I particularly like the unique "wifi zone" power-up. There's a huge amount of content and variety with the different enemies, planets, weapons, and even an achievement system!
There's just one glaring issue: the balance (or lack thereof). I got 5832 points and beat the boss numerous times without losing a single life, and only finished because I decided to stop. The difficulty really needs to scale a lot faster, especially with all the upgrades you get.
The shop choices are also imbalanced. A one use power-up is worthless compared to permanent damage/health upgrades, and weapons are unnecessary once you have a couple good ones. I think it would be more interesting if instead of getting automatic weapon upgrades after each boss, you were forced to swap out your low level weapons for higher level ones from the shop. That would create some decisions and give an incentive to try different weapons.
That said, this is a great game, and with some balance tweaks it could be truly incredible!
This is really fun and incredibly polished! I like how much thought you put into the weapon upgrades and flavor text. It made it fun to try out new ones. I thought the tracking missiles were good at first, but then I tried out the black hole fireball weapon. That thing is insane. (Not to mention adding that x2 increase + damage boost!)
I loooooooooove this game. If I hadn't accidentally looked at my phone, I wouldn't even have known that I played the game for two hours. I loved the little backward bounce the ufo makes every time you shoot, love the music when you win a level, love that the upgrades stick around so you can use them whenever, I basically love this whole game. This game should definitely one hundred percent win this contest. Anyone who disagrees doesn't deserve to have their internet saved by a dog!
The Wi-Fi has been stolen but IT Dog is on the case! Get in your W.U.F.O. and chase after the monsters who stole it! Now that's some good tech support.
