A cutesy demake that definitely establishes its core gameplay style well- as stated, being of a Mega Man X game. It's visually simplistic; not much to look at, really, but charming regardless.
While lacking a dash feature and pertaining an inability to rapid-fire shots may be unwanted, I don't believe it's an absolute for the straightforward nature of such here, even though this may be viewed as akin to a classic series title where you're more encouraged to take your time addressing challenges.
It's a nice game to play for a few minutes, main complaints being of the sudden appearance and spastic movement of the bats that could really warrant a better telegraph on their appearance, the silhouette being barely visible, and that you jump when holding down the designated button instead of it activating on a press. The latter complaint, while merely a minor inconvenience, can become exhausted since you begin to lose your ability to wall-jump when pressed against one if it's held.
There's also an... interesting graphical effect when jumping off a wall from the right and holding left at the same time (which oddly doesn't work in the opposite direction), but that's about it. A quick and fun game.
