Undertale Lavender is yet another prequel fangame set in the world of Undertale. The game follows Sterling, the fallen human with the SOUL of Perseverance, wandering through a version of the Underground set in the distant, magical past.
GAMEPLAY
Your notebook holds a secret - through the magic of his SOUL, Sterling is able to memorise and cast spells. Instead of a typical FIGHT option, Sterling's interactions with the monsters of the Underground are carried out exclusively through his arcane abilities.
Along with his HP, Sterling has an ARCANA meter, a resource of his SOUL's energy which he can call upon to cast his spells. When depleted, it can be refilled by avoiding taking damage or using a replenishing item.
Using various combinations of armor, arcane weaponry and powerful spells, the player is given the freedom to craft a personalised playstyle in this unique spin on Undertale's battle system.
STORY
The story of Undertale Lavender is a look into the past of the Underground, a potential twisting of events that introduces all-new characters, locations, items and mechanics to the franchise.
Every monster Sterling encounters has their own troubles that they need to persevere through in order to prosper. It's your choice whether to empower them and be a hero, or to ignore them and prioritise yourself.
What is the true meaning of Perseverance to you? Is it to push past everything recklessly, ignoring any challenges? Or is it to overcome each challenge, even if it means progressing slower?
