Storyline

As the global population continues to surge, the depletion of vital resources, especially food, becomes a catalyst for large-scale conflicts worldwide. Simultaneously, the detrimental effects of warfare and global warming render the outside air increasingly hazardous to breathe. In light of these dire circumstances, a collaborative effort between governments and influential individuals conceives the Lumina—a secret project that holds the potential to reshape the world permanently.

HO-165, a young man born and raised in the secretive Lumina project, encounters a moment that forever changes his life. Fueled by emotions, he makes the courageous decision to join the rebel group known as the Unwashed, embarking on a harrowing journey through a frightening world. Determined to uncover the truth, he strives to stop a secret mission that holds the lives of millions in its grip.

Progression

The main objective of the game is to advance the story, which is non-linear. Players have the freedom to complete quests and missions in any order they choose. All missions are integral to the overall story, and once players have completed all missions, the final mission will be unlocked, bringing the game to a conclusion.

Explore

The core essence of the game lies in exploration. Every aspect of this game requires personal discovery, encompassing both the main quest and side quests. You won't find any automatic markers or minimaps to assist you; instead, you must independently seek out and commit locations to memory. Utilizing methods such as reading signs and creating your own map annotations will aid in navigation.

Oxygen

In a world where the air outside is unbreathable, players must rely on an oxygen tank to survive. It is crucial to manage this resource carefully, ensuring that it doesn't run out. Players have the ability to customize their oxygen usage, adjusting the breathing rate for different situations and setting notifications for specific oxygen levels. Additionally, players can upgrade and add addons to their oxygen tank, tailoring it to their preferred style of play. Throughout the map, oxygen stations and safe houses are scattered, and players must search for them on their own in order to replenish their oxygen supply. Remember, every movement you make impacts the oxygen level, so proceed with caution.

The Herbizide

Managing oxygen levels while living outside can be stressful, but it becomes even more daunting when confronting the Herbizide, a genetically modified species programmed to eliminate anyone venturing beyond the safe zone in order to maintain population control. Facing these creatures is a genuine nightmare, requiring meticulous planning. Moving too quickly risks depleting your oxygen supply while moving too slowly increases the likelihood of getting caught. Thus, it is imperative to devise a plan that suits your style. Each type of Herbizide presents unique avoidance and escape methods, necessitating utmost caution with every step taken outside.
