I am the one who got their hands on the new engine pretty early, and I just want to say, it's a lot better than the old one.
Hey, could you make something that is an editor in itself, not requiring gamemaker?
Great Job Dude amazing Engine! but you are using a custom engine for the overworld or you are basing of this? https://gamejolt.com/games/ut-overworld-engine-tl/335697 is is not i recommend to you to use is good :D

Undertale Template X (by Charles03) (ARCHIVE)
--- RESPONSIBILITIES ---
You may refer to this post for more details on how a fangame should be made.

---ABOUT---
This is ideally a game template where you can derive its game systems and designs for your next Undertale fangame.
Here are a few features:
Dialog System:
Text colors, shake, and rotate most of your basic text flavoring needs!
You can also:
Make the player choose a decision
Programmatically assign methods based on the player's decision...
...or even just plug in a method to run once the dialog finishes (by using the first entry within the decisions parameter)
Show your gold and inventory
Useful for prompts to buy items!
Prevent skipping dialogue
Automatically move to next dialogue
Save System:
Separate events from memories:
file0 relates to what is in the real world (you know, the usual stuff that easily gets reset)
file9 involves more of what you and other characters remember
Layered Overworld:
Stack objects on top of one another!
Allow your player to above and below objects in a different layer!
Layers are mainly used to determine the depth of objects, and should not be used beyond this purpose
DEBUG mode (WIP):
Develop your games quicker using developer-only keys and key combinations!
...no battle system yet, unfortunately, since I had to remake the template from scratch while learning the new GameMaker engine.
Also, the one I made from almost 7 years ago is still quite a mess.
