Great game!
I must admit your implementation is way better than mine.
Specially on the music - did you make them yourself?
It's amazing!
The only bad thing I found was the long distance between
checkpoints.
Oh, and since Veridian is relatively big, I couldn't help but
die a lot.
I'm curious, which framework did you used?
I'm having some troubles with MelonJS's collision
system - it wasn't made for such low resolution scale.
the remake of veni vedi veci is buggy. I've gone through the top and it send me to the end room.
Woah so cool!
great inspiration, and i love low rez games, so.. yeah. amazing
Little did Captain Viridian (see Terry Cavanagh's original and excellent VVVVVV for details...) know that, the disturbance on the D.S.S. SoulEye would have repercussions elsewhere. On a lonely outpost, gravitational distortions are making it hard for Cadet Vertigo to go about their indentured service on the makeshift brig satellite they were sent to for misbehaving whilst on duty.
What did they do? It's a bit embarrassing to tell, really. Never to mind, these distortions could provide a means of escape. Cadet Vertigo thinks to themself, risking it in the open coldness of space might be better than being holed up in boredsville...
...introducing, V.
A #lowrezjam game.
Control Vertigo with the arrow keys or W,A and D. Flip between ceiling and floor to find your escape! Try not to touch anything that looks spiky or dangerous; a checkpoint is never too far away, but death is sorta annoying despite not being final for our poor Cadet Vertigo.
If somehow you get stuck (and don't rule it out), the 'K' key will kill Vertigo and return them to the last checkpoint touched.
Survival Tips
Each room can contain something new to kill Vertigo. Or help. Either way, entering new rooms carefully may pay off.
Cadet Vertigo can brush their head on some things to pass under them safely.
Exploration may be occasionally-rewarded with a Trinket. These don't do anything, but who doesn't love something shiny, right? See if you can't find all six.
Room titles may seem silly at times, but sometimes they can give... subtle hints...
Many thanks to Terry Cavanagh, who in his original VVVVVV (of which this game is a tribute) brought us one of the finest unplatform games this decade. Cheers!
