What do you think?

I so desperately want to love this game. The atmosphere of the hub world is sublime, especially when paired with that lovely artstyle. But the gameplay itself is good, but feels incomplete. I can't jump and attack at the same time. I feel like attacking isn't me going for a stab, but committing to a long action that must complete itself (The decision to freeze the player while they attack may contribute to this).

The bosses seem to have been independently invented without regards to the player's move set. The observer stands around, teleporting sometimes and making explosions happen around the player for no real reason or indication of what hurts him and when. My arrows pass through The Wandering blade.

The only battle I thoroughly enjoyed was The Fallen Heroes, which feels like a defiant last stand against waves of enemies. Although this would've been much better if I could dodge, attack, arrow and dodge without fear of being stuck in an animation too long to react, or not registering the dodge as I smash shift while I load up an arrow.

You are clearly very talented, especially in art, music, and especially atmosphere. Many of the issues I faced playing this seem to be due to a lack of outside play-testing. Don't be afraid to see how people react to your work, don't hide in fear of compromising your vision. But don't let other's opions create a vision either.

I saw that this is your first project, and is very impressive as one. I will follow your account in hopes of seeing what you come up with next. I hope this was helpful, and thank you for letting me experience the wonderful atmosphere you crafted.

Hey everyone,
thanks so much for the downloads and comments, I really appreciate it. When We Reign was actually a smaller project constructed in just 2 and a half weeks, it was more a mechanical test than anything else.

So I meant to post the game package as a name your price with a $1 recommended price, but listed it as a $1 game by accident. Fixed now, so if you haven't downloaded it yet, you can now. :)
