What do you think?

O has finished the entire demo and I can say this. Great game. I love the Cup Head style shooter and how you took your spin on the style. The difficulty is very evenly paced and enjoyable, the style and art are magnificent, and the mechanics are original.

Although I love the game it does have its flaws:

  1. It does not give a clear goal until the very end of the game.

  2. The keyboard controls aren't necessarily bad but they aren't great.

  3. This is a big one, My power-up guns ran out almost instantly after buying them and I could not use them again. Unlike everything else in the game, they take up a L O T of power. If you do read this then try to even it out:/

even though i've barely started the game, i can say that this game is awesome

everyone is saying this game is good so i will install the graphics look amazing

Hand-drawn bullet-hell! 

A frenetic shooter combining the run-and-gun mechanics of Metal Slug with the infinite loops and shmup-ing of Resogun, wrapped up with old-fashioned drawn-on-film style animation. Fight your own creator as the artist bears down on you with pen and paintbrush!

All Zoe wants is some peace and quiet, but she's gonna have to deal with the pesky animator who keeps painting enemies and being generally annoying before she'll be able to get some rest.

Destroy the animator's tools, blast their creations to bits, collect Apples to spend on Power Ups, rack up your multiplier, and reclaim your serene surroundings to help Zoe get back to normality as fast as you can (and bag yourself a high score in the process)!


Gameplay

- Fly and dash if you have enough Energy to get to the next enemy and keep your chain going!...

- or run on the ground if you don't.

- Refill your Energy or Health and reclaim your territory by pounding the ink dots!

- Use your Dash charge to escape tricky situations or quickly take out stronger enemies...


Power Ups

Collect the Apples dropped by enemies to spend in the power up shops that appear throughout each level!

Devlog 8 - A New Power Up System

I've been sprucing up the boss death animation this week, what do you think?

I thought I'd try out a new move for Zoe this week, and it turns out to be the missing piece of the puzzle! It feels so much better dashing and charging around when you can kill enemies in the process :D

I'm happy to announce that ZOE is now up and running and available to wishlist on Steam!

There's no release date yet, but there will be a brand new demo coming very soon (to Game Jolt as well tho, so don't go away!).

Heavy shot is a bit OP at the moment and maybe a tad too chaotic..? That's three power ups done now, time to try and balance it all out...

I'm slowly getting through the classic weapon types, here's the spread shot for ZOE! Some heavy machine gun tweaks next I think :D

I've been working on some new power ups for ZOE, this is the homing gun and it's pretty much done. It's thrown up some readability issues tho, with all the chaos that ensues, so I'm gonna have to rethink some of the enemy bullets now...
