0.2.0 Patch Notes


Patch 0.2.0 (First patch of 2019)

Play Vs. AI

Play Vs. AI is a game mode that plays relatively similar to what the main game is. It is very much in development, so please comment bugs.

  • If the killer is within 25 units of the survivor, the AI will start chasing them.

  • Whenever colliding with an object, change directions to random direction.

  • Every x amount of time use an ability

  • Every 30 seconds, if further than 40 units of the survivor, teleport between 150 and 250 pixels of them.

  • Traps will be placed every 20 seconds at the killers position as long as they aren’t in a chase.

  • the AI will not use stealth, since it isn’t stealth based.

Patch Notes

  • Changed around some sound effects

  • Added the ability to back out of the role selection screen (press ESC)

  • Added what’re known internally as jump scare traps. They use the same code as keys, and trigger a jump scare when walked over (survivor only).

  • Fixed the extremly inconsistent speeds with killer and survivor. Before, when using different abilities the players speed would be set back to a value that wasn’t the original walking speed.

  • Killers travel at 15 units per second.

  • Survivors travel at 10 units per second.

  • Sprint Burst is 60 units per second, for 3 seconds.

  • Added a screeching sound when the killer uses teleport.

  • Re introduced the terror radius mechanic as a form of breathing that gets louder the closer you get to the killer

  • Fixed a bug where if the killer teleport off the game map, they couldn’t get back in.

  • Fixed a bug where the connect button wouldn’t work.

  • Fixed a bug where if you pressed enter to connect, the game wouldn’t add the FUNGAME_ prefix top the lobby name.

  • Fixed a bug where the tally screen would still appear in 640x480 mode.

  • Fixed a bug where the perspectives of buildings would be warped when using the teleport ability. This was because the game would set the camera focus off of the Player entity and onto the CURSOR entity.

  • Fixed a bug where traps would be placed at the wrong location. This was because of a legacy option where traps would be placed at the CURSOR position instead of the Player position.

  • Made the trap mostly transparent, this makes them a more powerful tool to use.

  • Touched up the role select status messages, they were very buggy.

  • Removed the 8-bit beep sound from the role select screen. It was very annoying.

  • Added a chat function to the role select screen. It was originally in the game, but didn’t work so was disabled.

  • Teleport now has a time limit of 3 seconds. Once you cast the ability, you have 3 seconds to chose where you want to go. This prevents killers from scouting the map for survivors.

  • Fixed a bug where when the survivor spammed Aura, it would ear rape the killer with whisper sound effects. Now, SoundSys will stop the sample each time it receives the activation packet.

  • Fixed a bug when the killer cast Teleport, the cathedral jump scare sound would play instead of the killers screeching sound effect

  • Fixed a bug where if the peer disconnected, the match wouldn’t get cancelled. This feature originally worked, but is suspected that it got broken at some point.

  • Disabled winter event.

Known Bugs

  • Winter event music is still applied, will be fixed in patch 0.3.0

  • If your peer is on a slow network connection or a slow computer, the game will time out after 2 seconds and throw you both into a game that appears inactive.
