0.4 Release of Dungeon Rally

This release of Dungeon Rally is a fun one! Actual programming work has slowed at this point, as I continue to fine-tune balance and spend more time developing content.

Some of the highlights this week include:

  • Tons of new tiles! Removed ones that weren’t working, and added new ones.

  • Added Paladin: Once per turn, whenever an ally takes damage, Paladin gains Power + 4

  • Added Holy Sword: When equipped, current hero restores 3 health

  • Added Priest: Whenever an ally in the current chain takes damage, that damage is reduced by 2

  • Added Bloody Axe: Whenever the current hero deals damage, their power is increased by 2

  • … and many more new tiles!

  • New episode selection screen - more episodes coming soon!

  • Added Endless Mode

I can confirm the game is beatable! I survived to Day 50 for the first time ever earlier this week, so I know the balance is getting close. It’s a difficult game for sure, but that’s part of the fun.

Next week, I’ll be mostly focused on content creation for the second episode, which is slated to be a battle in a Dragon’s Lair — a nice change of pace from the cold, undead enemies in Episode 1!

I also added an .apk for Android (if you know what you’re doing!) and by request, a Linux version. The Linux version if untested, but assuming it works, should hopefully open Dungeon Rally to a wider audience.

Let me know how you like the new builds in the comments!

I created a new character for a small video game I'm planning to make soon. I used Blender, Substance Painter and Marmoset.

Here's a cool GIF I rendered of a character I'm working on for my latest project.
