But first...
What is "Prototype Talk"?
If not obvious enough, Prototype Talk is a form of devlog mainly focusing on the discussion of the future game prototype that'll be accessible to the public. In this Prototype Talk, we'll be talking about the 'Winter Break VIII' Prototype. Prototype Talk also showcases and explains things that will be in the prototype being discussed, though the 'Winter Break VIII' Prototype has nothing to showcase... yet.
Now then...
!!! PROTOTYPE TALK IS NOW !!!
Enter the 'Winter Break VIII' Prototype
The 'Winter Break VIII' Prototype is the first proclaimed prototype for Skylanders Slayers, and is codenamed 'Winter Break VIII' because its discussion began during RK's 8th grade winter break. The prototype itself will showcase many things, from one of the ingame levels to elemental strengths/weaknesses and more! In fact...
Here's everything that'll be in the prototype
LevelsChaptersThis level was chosen to be showcased mainly 'cause of three things:
Its necessary music is finished
It's Arkeyan-related (and y'know how RK is when something's Arkeyan-related)
By the way, these Skylanders were chosen mainly 'cause their vectors/models are finished and finalized as of this current moment.
Slayers
Sinister (Fire)
Garand Magus (Magic)
Dust Devil (Air)
Dusty here is a Slayer y'all've yet to hear of 'til now. Basically... you'll see sooner or later.
Y'all have not heard of ANY of the Cores here, have y'all? Oh well; sooner or later, just like Dusty.
Jell (Tech)
Monarchulus (Undead)
Kasumi (Dark)

Story part: Temple of Arkus
Before the chapter
Basically, Kaos and Lord Vesper have a brand new contraption to behold to Glumshanks: the Darklium Infuser!!!
And, quick detour here, Darklium (riftomic number 66 in the Dark Void periodic table) is the infectious chemical that mainly makes up Darkrite crystals. Darklium on its own displays as a liquid, rather than the solid that is Darkrite.
Anyways, with the Darklium Infuser in their hands, Kaos and Vesper can pretty much 'upgrade' the grand army of which they behold — without the pain caused from raw Darkrite injection. They can also upgrade Glumshanks using the infuser. So, what do they do first? They upgrade Glumshanks using the infuser. After consentually being injected with Darklium from the infuser, Glumshanks has now gained the powers of technological omniscience and also telekinesis — basically turning Glumshanks into an 11 phD badass, minus the hardhat and phDs that prove his intelligence.
With these new powers of his, Glumshanks is able to rebuild even the largest of Arkeyans. So, Lord Vesper gives Glumshanks the Rift Artifact of Necrom — a skull-like orb that's able to resurrect anyone and anything that has ceased to exist — and tasks him to travel to the Temple of Arkus and bring back an army of Arkeyans upon his rearrival. Lord Vesper even persuades Glumshanks via mentioning an added bonus if Glumshanks ventures within the temple to uncover and reforge the Arkeyan King of Arkus. And so, Glumshanks constructs himself a robotic wingpack, and sets off to find the Temple of Arkus — which he already knows its location.

After the chapter
The Skylander defeats Glumshanks and his newly-rebuilt, regal Arkeyan mech in a high-stakes battle within the Temple of Arkus. But the mech is still in enough pieces to move — only missing its right hand — and there's a remaining few squadrons worth of Arkeyans. So, Glumshanks retreats out of the ancient charnel with his grand mech, alongside a few telekineticly-made ships holding the garrisons he gathered.

Music-related stuff
Our composer, @TheNerdCJ , has been gone for quite a while, hence the lack of new music lately. But now they're back in action and making us some new Elemental Gate themes! So stay tuned for when those tunes release!
That's all for now, folks! Until then and/or next Prototype Talk, Portal Masters!
