SCP-3199

3199's going to be put on the backburner for a week or so for a smaller roguelike project I want to work on - I've spent so much time working on environment art & design for 3199 I've almost forgotten how to code LOL.

I've been playing with some audio for the game using Audacity. What do you guys think of the sound so far?

Sorry for the lack of updates, I think it's safe to say the last month has been a bit...stressful for everyone. Rest assured, I'm still working hard to finish 3199 - hopefully by the end of 2024. In the meantime, let's go check in on Bambi - ooooohhh...

Map progress going quickly, I just finished code so that you can "discover" the locations on the map. Now to add this code to every landmark, and time to move on to proper polishing.

The main shed & lock system. Honestly, this lock-and-key system shouldn't have taken as long as it did.

I'll be starting a part-time job soon, but I'm going to try and be more consistent with future updates. Now to work on what's down in the basement...

Sorry for the late update! Only working on small things in a lot of places - not much to show off all at once. I did start wrapping up the main shed though - needed to find the right "rusty metal" texture to tie it all together.

Finally, environment should be done real soon! Just so you don't think I'm slacking, once I realized that I was making an open-world game, I had to go and make a whole bunch of special landmarks for the player. Each blue square is a landmark. I'M BUSY!

Still working behind-the scenes!

Note to self: Never, ever, ever work on an open-world horror game solo ever again, even a small one like this.

Still getting the whole "world" part built, actually need to program the scares soon.

I think I've reached the point where I'm sad & I need to finish this game & move on to something else, so I'm going to try speedrunning the rest of it & put band-aids on the biggest problems. For example, I'm making a map now to fix the big map size.

Pop quiz! If you were wandering in the woods, and you stumbled upon this scene, what would you do? (unmute = funny)

Thought the map was a little small (I could run from one edge to the other in 1 min.) so I redid the whole size of the map - from 700 x 700 to 1000 x 1000. Conversion took a little while, but it honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
