The past couple of weeks have been my hardest so far. I had to put in a lot of work on re-creating the “foundation” of all the levels. I don’t think I can explain what that means without giving much away.
Anyway, after that, I had to work on small features here and there that would enhance the overall experience. For starters the death screen has a lot more going on. There game now has an xp system. Your progress is saved to disk.
The xp system is more like an in-game currency type of thing than your traditional xp. I won’t say much for now. But I wanted to give players reason to replay.
More on that later.
Also, before every level begins, there is an indicator quickly showing you just how close you are to getting to your goal. It’s crazy that I didn’t consider this initially. But yeah.
There is just a ton more that I’m adding and updating. The tutorial section is getting a overhaul as well. The game was given to random players to take it for a spin and the feedback was overall positive but it was little issues like the ones that I have mentioned that were sort of “killing off” the experience.
I’m happy for the feedback I’m getting from you here on GJ as well. I’m committed to making this game better. Not perfect. Just as good as I can possibly make it.
This isn’t the full update of what’s been going on, but I thought I’d just post something to show that I still walk among the living :)
