Hey guys! While the title might seem like something bad is going on, the opposite is true! However, RBFF’s Chapter 1 will take a LOT longer to develop at this point. Let me fill you in on what’s going on.
Up until now, RBFF’s story and events have been pretty much done random and with not too much thought. It was pretty much similar to normal Undertale. However, in this project I want there to be an actual story. A story that is planned from chapter, to chapter. From beggining, to end. From first encounter to Flowey, to very last boss.
I will not code a single bit more of RBFF until I have a completed script that I am satisfied with.This is the only way I can really gurantee quality in the story. This should be more Mother 3-ish in story than story like Undertale. And, guess what?
I’ve found the perfect villains to challenge you. You’ll see them eventually.
I have coded up to the end of what I call “Chapter One - Part One,” which is what I have been working on since last April. Chapter One’s first and second part will be very different beasts, with Part Two starting the real story bits. So, Chapter One is not even half done at this point. So, don’t expect to see Chapter One until next year. But once you do get Chapter One, expect to see something similar to Deltarune.
Once it is time to code the game again, I will be adapting a new way of taking on chapters.
Step One - Sprite and map out the chapter.
Step Two - Add functionality and let you travel between the rooms.
Step Three - Add puzzles.
Step Four - Add the dialogue.
Step Five - Add the cutscenes.
Step Six - Add the battles.
Step Seven - Polish.
This should make it so development is quicker. That’s what I have to share now. I’ll update you on the scripts progress, right now I’m working on a summary of all the events that will go on.
