The reason I heavily debated there designs was because of the BOSSES for the game, that being METALO, GRIEF (cosoul) and GUILT. (cosaul)
Their designs are based on that of the Deluxe Edition's designs in similar ways and build, so I felt it would make more sense, but in the end sticking to the CURRENT designs will work best because classic mode technically really isn't a "classic mode" it's just the classic looking characters being put in what ORIGINALLY was going to be Five Nights at Coso's: PLUS Deluxe Edition environment
