That's right! Using the power of RPG Maker MZ, the Legend of ZUN! The Touhou Meta-fangame that has more to with retro British computers from the 80's than Touhou Project is back and better than before. So what is new?
Revised Plot
The plot is still the same as it ever was, ZUN is kidnapped by Jack Tramiel the CEO of Commodore Business Machines for reasons that involve Capitalism and a secret 16-bit project. So its up to Sir Clive Sinclair of ZX Spectrum fame to save the day.
But the difference is in the writing! With five years of continuous improvement in game development, all plot related dialogue is revised with greater emphasis on character motivation. Cutscenes have been expanded upon. New plot related dungeons have also been introduced leading into
Revised Level Design
The levels have been redesigned from the ground up. building interiors are smaller, dungeons are less square looking and less spare looking with more decoration.
New Characters and Bonus Dungeons
A new playable character, has been added to the game! As well as new dungeons accessible through the new Quest Journal system!
Introducing New Sidequests
A sidequest system has been implemented giving the player more to do than just trying to find ZUN. Even helping out a magic conductor and his cousin...
New features! Autosave and More!
Brand new features courtesy of RPG Maker MZ and the VisuStella Team! An Autosave feature makes sure the adventure goes on making the constant saving a thing of the past! (But do save occasionally though...)
Characters can move in 8 different directions and a new sideview ATB battling system. As well a new higher resolution that's wide and thicc. New character designs and soundtrack bring the presentation to a whole new level!
New enemies and revamped equipment and items bring Legend of ZUN to modern Frank Topham/AeroSoft standards.
New VisuMV plugins bring behind the scenes magic into the fold!
A new Postgame?!
Perhaps a new postgame based on the Legend of ZUN Deluxe, rebuilt from the ground up to put extra content into the game? Maybe a few Touhou girls would make a cameo?...
