About the project
I've been working on this small project for about two weeks now, and I figured it's time to announce it and make a game page for it. This is a small experimental project I decided to start just for fun and to play around with. I mainly wanted to focus on exploring this type of 2.5D artstyle, as well as some simple mechanics in order to learn a bit more about how I'll go about doing things for a bigger project that I'm working on.
The motivation for this game came mainly from me wanting to get a better grasp on what sort of workflow and rules to set for my artstyle with modeling and texturing the 3D assets. And now that most of that is starting to be finished, I can say I've learned quite a bit on what I'll do differently and how I can make everything more pleasing to look at in the future. I figured it should be a horror game since those are relatively easy for me to design in a small scope. I also thought it'd be refreshing for me to make something small like this while I'm working on my main project, and it definitely has been.

About the game
Appease It is a short horror game where you play as a boy named Jimmy, carrying a set of rituals in the hopes of placating an entity lurking around the family's home. Complete the set of rituals while hiding from it whenever it haunts.
I decided to build the game around a simple concept: Do a few tasks and hide from an entity once your light starts flickering. If you don't, it'll get you. I also added a small twist to the core gameplay loop which is a draining battery in the player's lamp, so you also need to make sure to find replacements before the light runs out. I hope that will be enough to make the gameplay feel interesting and dynamic, it's going to be pretty short after all.
The game will be released either at the end of this week or at some point next week. It might get pushed a bit further but for now I'd say it's a fairly reasonable release time seeing how things are progressing right now.
