Hey everybody, SPYPVP here! I gotta confess, I meant make this post a lot sooner but so many things just kept getting in the way and only now did I get to start writing this all out. Better late than never though, right?
In this post, I want to tell you all what my plan to do with this game is and what you can except from this page going forward. See, not only am I a big fan of Undertale, but of the Horror genre as well. I feel like there's a lot of potential out there for what Undertale and Horror could do when mixed together. This is what led to me creating Under The Mountain.
This game will serve as my own personal interpretation of what Undertale would be like if it was a Horror game instead of being the comical RPG we all know. I started making this project back in late November of 2023, at first just starting out as a what if scenario where Silent Hill was one of Undertale's main inspirations. The more I work on this though, I feel like this is now beginning to turn into something greater than that premise and one of the things I am the most proud of directing. This will be slightly shorter than the original, but it will still be long enough for a decently sized game, full of new and frightening twists to the world of Undertale.
What can you currently see from this as of now? Well, if you head over to the SoundCloud account , we just finished uploading every non-spoiler song for the first area of the game, Old Home. This can help with giving you a basic idea of what to expect while still leaving many things a surprise.

Old Home itself in the game will be like a "calm before the storm" area. Since this game has a drastic tonal shift from the original, Old Home will act as a way to ease you into this new version of Undertale so you can be better prepared for the more extreme moments that are planned to happen in later areas. I hope that Old Home will be the best introduction to this world as it possibly can be to you all.
Lastly, I'm going to talk about how I'll be using this page. I want to get this out of the way immediately that I do not plan on doing things like weekly or monthly devlogs unlike many other fan projects. I feel as if trying to get these out that quickly would rush development just so there's enough to talk about in one post.
I will still make devlogs, I just won't post them until I feel as if there's enough progress in the game's development. At the same time though, I also don't want to keep this page inactive for too long and leaving people in the dark. So to counteract this, every now and then expect to see a few brief teasers of the game which will hopefully keep you guys updated and not wondering if nothing is going on behind the scenes at all (I plan to do special kinds of posts such as Q&A events for the game itself every now and then too).
That's it for this post! I hope you all look forward to what comes next for this project as much I am. Thanks for reading and have a great rest of your day.
