This game involves one of my good old friends, birdman. As fresh visual art was requested I significantly enhanced the model by trashing the fantastic suit and creating a new costume with a borrowed tee.
Since the apocalypse is about the end of the world I tried hard to create a world; being a programmer showering meteors and destroying the world was the easier part.
The game scores based on how long you survive, but also has a… weird story going on. Part of the fun is making sense of Birdman’s ramblings while avoiding getting crushed.
My neck hurts.
With how I used color and grayscale, I tried to put it in your face that the world is old, concrete, gray, ugly; we don’t deserve an apocalypse, but we probably need an epiphany of sorts (another meaning of “apocalypse”.
I requested ideas from users for content to put in the world. Was relatively successful. For example potential players asked me to add the Montreal Biodome, or a cat on a unicycle.
Thanks for reading (and playing, hopefully)
