It’s almost surreal seeing all of the people starting to follow “A Day In My Mind”
From the moment I found out that my first game ever reached 1000 plays to the moment I started seeing a few videos of my little Global Game Jam 2014 game, I’ve felt a whole bag of feelings about making this game.
People still wonder if I hate myself (to which I say, I went to Medieval Times a day into the game jam :P and of course I don’t :D) as others have come up to me and couldn’t help but hug me saying “Thank You”.
The game was definitely taking a lot of inspiration from my Ludum Dare games that I made and a class project I never posted anywhere (Links to my Ludum Dare page will be provided below if you want to know what I was talking about), what with the original concept delving into a few insecurities that, when I look at Block Stack (my latest little project) and my recent endeavors as a former web development intern at the advertising firm, GSW-Worldwide, as well as my current internship starting in February with MTV and Viacom, I lacked a lot of self-confidence before but to be honest, a lot of those feelings were “in my mind”.
As much sympathy I have received for this game, I want to thank everyone, thus far, who has commented, followed, and played “A Day In My Mind”. By no means is this my last game (I mean, I’m only a junior in college, global game jam’s in two weeks, and Block Stack is available to play try out and play right here on gamejolt! (sadly, it’s another gamemaker PC executable game))
So, I want everyone to know that, as a kid still in school, I’m not done yet. “A Day In My Mind” is just a Global Game Jam game and as much as I love making “experiential games” like this one, I’m not going to stick myself to a diffinitive style, even if “In The Middle of Black and White” was that attempt at being my next “experiential game”.
Thank you!
